Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.
The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana in addition to numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
